Forklift operators must receive refresher training to maintain safety and efficiency in the workplace.
The HSE guides all employers to have all their forklift operators, trained to a safety standard to H.S.E L117 standards. Refresher training may be necessary to keep operators’ skills and knowledge up to date.
For example, operators returning after an extended absence or those who only use the equipment occasionally should undergo refresher training before resuming operation. This ensures they’re up-to-date on safety protocols and best practices.

We provide a range of training options for operators with existing experience. Our one-day experienced operator course is designed for operators who need to fine-tune their skills. If a member of your staff already holds a forklift certification and needs a refresher, we also offer a one-day refresher course.
If operators would like to expand their skills to a different type of forklift, our conversion course is the ideal choice. All our courses are designed for up to three operators at a time.

Our forklift training programme combines hands-on experience with essential theoretical knowledge.
Practical training
Your operators will be expected after thorough training, to safely carry out operations in the following circumstances and areas if applicable.
1, racking. 2, mezzanine floors. 3, Yard areas. 4, Warehouse and factory inside areas. 5, the ability and confidence to load and un-load any lorries or vans. 6, to pass all relevant paperwork tests.
Theoretical training
The theoretical training complements the practical sessions. Operators will cover relevant health and safety regulations, understand the importance of training, and learn about the Approved Code of Practice and the Operator’s Safety Code. We’ll reinforce key concepts with a safety film and discuss lift truck stability in detail. The theory component can also be customised to address specific operational needs or challenges.

This course is for anyone who needs to renew their forklift operator’s license and get a new Certificate of Competence.
This refresher course reinforces safe operating procedures, updates your knowledge of handling techniques and safety regulations, and ensures you can confidently operate a forklift in various conditions.
The assessment includes a written test with multiple-choice questions. If you have any reading, writing, or learning difficulties, we can provide support. This includes special paperwork for trainees with dyslexia or those who need assistance reading the test. You will also need to pass a practical test demonstrating operational skills.
