The practical component of the course takes place in your yard or factory, using a designated coned-off safe area. Under the instructor’s guidance, participants will confidently direct a vehicle as it reverses into this area, practicing start, guide, and stop procedures. This hands-on experience provides crucial real-world context and reinforces the learned techniques.
Upon successfully completing the practical assessment, participants will articulate the critical safety measures that must be implemented before and during banksman operations. This includes explaining how to protect van and lorry drivers, other vehicle operators, office and warehouse staff, and members of the public, ensuring a safe environment for all. This final step confirms their understanding of comprehensive safety protocols and their ability to apply them in real-world scenarios.
